Gigabyte unveils "world's lightest" carbon fiber notebook

Gigabyte unveils "world's lightest" carbon fiber notebook

Gigabyte has taken the wraps of what it claims is the world's lightest notebook: the Gigabyte X11. As the name suggests this is an 11-inch system —11.6 specifically — and the Taiwan-based manufacturer has used an all carbon fiber enclosure to achieve an impressive light weight of 975g (2.15 pounds). For reference, Apple’s aluminum-body 11.6-inch MacBook Air is just slightly heavier at 1,080 grams (2.38 pounds).
Design-wise the X11 features a wedge-shaped design that goes from 3mm (0.19 inches) at the front to 16.5mm (0.65 inches) on the back. Opening the lid you’ll see an aluminum hinge, a chiclet-style keyboard with a backlight and ambient light sensor, and a large buttonless touchpad. Ports include power, USB 2.0 and mini DisplayPort on the left side plus microSD, combo audio and USB 3.0 on the right.
Under the hood the system features an unidentified “3rd generation Intel Core” processor (Ivy Bridge) and Mobile Intel HM77 Express chipset with Intel HD Graphics 4000, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 128GB solid state drive,  a 1366 x 768 pixel LED-backlit display, 1.3 megapixel camera, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0, as well as a choice between Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional operating systems.
Expect the Gigabyte X11 to arrive in July 2012 priced from $999 to $1299 depending on configuration.

How to recover or fix Hard drive bad sector

Hard drive bad sector is a common problem and it will cause hard drive crash in future. A bad sector occurs when there is physical damage to a part of the hard drive. Modern hard drives are created with many spare sectors. When the Hard disk controller detects a bad sector in the hard drive, it remaps that sector to another physical sector on the hard drive.

When we run a disk utility such as Scandisk and Norton Disk Doctor, such faulty sectors are marked with a "B".

As the hard drive bad sector is a permanent physical damage of hard drive, we can’t recover it by High level Formatting Like “Format” Command. Low level formatting is another option but Low level formatting programs and utilities for detecting bad sectors and wiping the disk not carrying out in such situation.

So bad sectors are not removed, but it will be in the table of bad sectors so that system can ignore those bad sectors.

Here I named some software for Hard drive bad sector Recovery, which is mainly manufacturer software Like Fujitsu (Erase, 33 KB), Maxtor, Quantum, Samsung (Clearhdd.exe, 11 KB), Seagate (Sgatfmt4).

If new bad sector will create in your hard drive you should take a backup all of your Data and change the disk for future Data security.

At last, if your operating system is windows then you may run Error Checkingperiodically to prevent your dive from bad sector. Steps for Error checking and Attempt Recovery of Bad Sectors are given below:-

1. On My Computer, select the disk drive that you want to diagnose and repair.
2. Right click on it and select Properties

If a USB storage device is not already installed on the computer

If a USB storage device is not already installed on the computer, assign the user or the group and the local SYSTEM account Deny permissions to the following files:
  • %SystemRoot%\Inf\Usbstor.pnf
  • %SystemRoot%\Inf\Usbstor.inf
When you do this, users cannot install a USB storage device on the computer. To assign a user or group Deny permissions to the Usbstor.pnf and Usbstor.inf files, follow these steps:
  1. Start Windows Explorer, and then locate the %SystemRoot%\Inf folder.
  2. Right-click the Usbstor.pnf file, and then click Properties.

If a USB storage device is already installed on the computer

If a USB storage device is already installed on the computer, set the Start value in the following registry key to 4:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UsbStor
When you do this, the USB storage device does not work when the user connects the device to the computer. To set the Start value, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
  3. Locate and then click the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UsbStor
  4. In the details pane, double-click Start.
  5. In the Value data box, type 4, click Hexadecimal (if it is not already selected), and then click OK.
  6. Exit Registry Editor.

To re-enable a disabled port:
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
3. Locate, and then click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\
Services\UsbStor
4. In the right pane, double-click Start.
5. In the Value data box, type 3, click Hexadecimal
(if it is not already selected), and then click OK.
6. Quit Registry Editor.
However, there can be other ways too to bypass this issue,
one of the easiest is to invest in a PS2 to USB port convertor.
